From economic development to supporting local initiatives, Heather Boone believes in the power a community bank plays in the critical development of communities. As a native of Lorain County, Buckeye Community Bank’s role as the last locally owned bank and a champion of those striving to make the area a great place to work and live was attractive to Boone.

“The opportunity to join Buckeye Community Bank and contribute to its focus on people and helping the local business community prosper was incredibly appealing to me,” said Boone, who joined Buckeye in 2021 as Executive Assistant. “The Buckeye team members strive to improve their service and connections to Buckeye’s clients to help them succeed, and that’s impressive. With the rapid changes in our industry, it is exciting to be surrounded by people working together to improve everything we do.”

In her role, Boone provides confidential, reliable and comprehensive service to Buckeye President and CEO Ben Norton and members of Buckeye’s Board of Directors. In addition to maintaining the efficiency of the bank’s executive team, she serves as a primary point of contact for managing information flow with various key contacts. An integral part of the bank’s administrative team, she assists with providing human resources support, managing projects, organizing events or overseeing special initiatives.

Boone has broad experience developed through a career in various aspects of banking, commercial lending administration, payroll and customer service management.

“Heather joined Buckeye Community Bank at a crucial time in the implementation of our growth strategy and has provided the effort needed to ensure we have the best, engaged team to succeed,” said Buckeye President Ben Norton. “She serves as a model of client service, a mentor for her teammates and a strong voice and advocate.”

Boone, who grew up in Oberlin, lives in Elyria with her husband, Russell, and the couple’s three children. While much of her day is filled with numbers, rules and organizational complexity, she embraces her creative side by participating in crafting and art pursuits outside the office.
